My Blogging Journey | A Fresh Start

“Everyone has that moment I think, the moment when something so momentous happens that it rips your very being into small pieces. And then you have to stop. For a long time, you gather your pieces. And it takes such a very long time, not to fit them back together, but to assemble them in a new way, not necessarily a better way. More, a way you can live with until you know for certain that this piece should go there and that one there.”

I am so excited that I am keeping to my word and writing again! One of the best things that helped me grow my blog back in 2017 was reading other bloggers talk about blogging and so I really want to have that section on my blog where I can share where I am with blogging and give advice to newbie bloggers. So I hope you enjoy this blog post as much as I enjoyed writing this. It feels good to be back, it feels really really good.

A lot hasn’t changed, I guess… well who am I kidding so much as changed since I have been away for a whole year but I think a lot more has even changed in the blogging world. It seems no one writes anymore and every single article you read tells you not to write because blogging is so dead. BUT… I am telling you right now if you enjoy writing and having your own website, then stick to your blog and I am going to tell you why.

WHY YOU SHOULD START YOUR BLOG IN 2020

First things first I want to share that there are two types of blogs… for-profit blogs and personal blogs and while I started my blog as a personal blog which is wholly different from a profit-making blog, I might transition into a for-profit blog soon too. As you can see from my page, I don’t have ads and most of my content is personal advice so blogging like me… is easy. Personal bloggers are all the rage for 2020… they help you build trust with your audience and in so many ways give you an avenue to express yourself online. This type of blogging is what most “instagram influencers” and other content creators do because it allows you to connect with your audience plus… its your own platform! Why not? That is why I absolutely love personal blogs! I mean some of my favs are http://www.findingpaola.com/,https://www.ijeomakola.com/,https://mostlymorgan.com/,https://www.theconfusedmillennial.com/ and they are absolutely phenomenal women who have perfected the art of balancing their personal blogs into for-profit blogs especially The Confused Millennial.

But, there is also a beast that is for-profit blogging and these are the bloggers who would tell you to never stop blogging because all of their money is made from writing articles on the internet. Think of the Neil Patel and Jenna Kutcher’s of the world! They blog fully for profit by helping others mostly about how to blog actually haha but most times also how to be successful… if you haven’t… check them out for sure!

I always want people to know to do your research on what type of blog you want to have and why because the why is the most important part. If you are blogging for profit, your motivations and mindsets are totally different than when you blog for personal gain. Both are great ways to share your stories and skill! So here’s the tea… start blogging in 2020 because it’s amazing what having a blog can do for you and how it helps you navigate certain spaces! I enjoy blogging and so many blogs have helped me get to where I am so I would never dissuade anyone from sharing their personal experiences and knowledge with the rest of the world.

If you have any questions on blogging or suggestions for what you would like me to write next, leave a comment below! I know this was very short but this is just a little teaser for WHAT'S to come!

Enjoy!

Love,

Sofi
